Troop 45
First chartered in 1928, Troop 45 is the oldest troop in Charlotte and has applied character and purpose to the youth of Charlotte for almost 90 years.
The Troop has had over 100 scouts reach the rank of eagle which is the highest rank in scouting, and upon its creation considered to be an impossible task. In the past five years the Troop has been very active providing the ability for scouts to participate in high adventure trips such as, a 50 mile canoe trip through a set of chain lakes in Ontario Canada, two bike trips in which scouts rode for over 500 miles and a sailing trip through the great lakes. The Troop also has a cub scout pack which readies young Cub Scouts Chartered in 1934, grades 1st through 5th for when they crossover to be Boy Scouts. Troop 45 is chartered by the First Congregational Church in downtown Charlotte.
