Charlotte Schools in 1951
Message of The Charlotte Superintendent, 1951
It has been a privilege to have had a part in an enterprise to make this a better community. We have a right to be proud of our modern school facilities which have resulted form the coorperation of the citizens in voting the necessary funds; the Board of Education, the teachers, and the citizens' advisory committee in planning; and the Mayor and City Council in providing streets and sidewalks.
As a result of these new schools, it is hoped that the adults of tomorrow may be stronger citizens because of having had the opportunity for educational experiences impossible under the previous crowded conditions.
Clark Muma,
Superintendent
Message of The Charlotte Board of Education, 1951
The Board of Education takes pride in presenting the new school buildings to the citizens of the city. We believe they are well planned, having adequate facilities in each building at a moderate cost. The new elementary system of which we feel all citizens may well be proud, and a system we believe is preparing our children for citizens of tomorrow,
